1. What is the prime mission of The Medicimage Foundation?
The creation of the authoritative global source of imagery at www.medicimagefoundation.org will enhance the professional quality of medical education, training and research in the developing nations of the world.
2. Who are the founders?
It is a non-commercial initiative of Medicimage Limited, the online pharmaceutical, medical, biosciences and healthcare image library, and was created by a long-term agreement of support with the Soba University Hospital, Khartoum.
3. How will the Foundation operate?
Under the guidance of a Board of leading international medical figures, the Foundation will offer membership to individuals, professional bodies and corporations who will have unlimited access to exclusive high quality still and video images, illustrations and audio presentations covering an unprecedented range of medical conditions and surgical procedures.
4. What are the costs of membership?
Users from the country where the Foundation has an agreement of support from a third party organisation will have unrestricted free access to the library. Others will pay an annual subscription:
- Individuals $25 - £12.50 - €18.50
- Professional organisations $2,500 - £1,250 - €1,850
- Corporations $4,000 - £2,100 - €3,000/$10,000 - £5,100 - €7,500
5. Is usage of the images restricted?
Images obtained by members of the Foundation from www.medicimagefoundation.org are solely for use by individuals, professional organisations and corporations for education, training and research purposes. Use for commercial, sales and marketing and general publicity purposes is strictly forbidden under the terms of membership and any abuse will threaten the offender’s continuing individual, professional or corporate membership of the Foundation.
6. Will professional and corporate members be recognised by the Foundation?
Their details will be listed in a special Patrons’ section on www.medicimagefoundation.org with links to their own websites.
7. How will the Foundation use the income from subscriptions?
After administration and production expenses, the income will be devoted to expansion of the library’s content and the introduction of other services in pursuit of the Foundation’s mission.
8. Will the Foundation’s presence be established in other countries?
Based on the concept created with the Soba University Hospital, it is intended to expand the Foundation’s reach by collaborating with medical institutions in other countries.
9. What other help does the Foundation need?
Although the library will largely comprise original still and video images and illustrations, the Foundation will welcome gifts of individual’s own material to add to the content.
